Battlefield 2 is a tough dog to put down and is still attracting intrest from the competitive community and is STILL going on strong - and you can catch all the action LIVE over on Rush TV this evening. While there are not really many - if any - teams still actively playing BF2 competitively, there has been a lot of interest from the 'old skool' players and clans which has lead to a decent turn out and what should be some excellent gameplay for everyone to watch.

Battlefield 3 is far away, and I know you are ALL dying to play it - but for now lets remember the game that made so many of us fall in love with the Battlefield franchise, and show our friends over at EA and DICE that they would be foolish to ignore the e-sports community by coming together for events like this!

In the original design it was constructed to house a per population of 5,000, but too soon it began so overpopulated that the founders could not maintain control, order was lost, riots broke out over resources and the refugees struggled for what ever else remained.

As you all knew the IGN Pro League has been going for the last few days now, with the best north american players meeting in double elimination.

So far the tournament has been very impressive, with IGN streaming their content out for free live, which is impressive in itself but when you see the high production value of the content - IGN truely has a league to be proud of.

The matches themselves have provided some suprises and quite frankly gob smacking results. I admit I have not watched every match, as the 1am GMT streaming time, 3 days in a row, really gets the better of me so have fallen back to VOD's to catch up on.

I'll give a quick insight into the remaining upper and lower bracket matches:

Team-Rush will be in attendance at this weeks insomnia42 event. The CSS and Crysis team will be competing in their respective tournaments over the course of the next couple of days in the hope that this will be a successful LAN, following the Crysis team's triumph in the i42 online qualifying tournament.

RUSH.CSS will be going without two of the online lineup, Spii and n3uro. Replacing them for this event will be RACER and POLZEH, both currently teammates in HMN.
