The TeamSpeak (TS): www.teamspeak.com/

It has been a long time since we have tried to maintain our own TeamSpeak server. We had a couple guys host a TS server, but it frequently went offline and we would be unable to contact them in a timely manner. We ended up renting a server which is seldom offline and has support we can contact in a relatively quick timeframe.

Can some explain possible reasons the TeamSpeak Servers were going offline? (Without obvious wise cracks; e.g. he turned off his computer or his power went out)

Thanks for the referral and additional 25% off offer. We are happy with our current TeamSpeak server. It just would have been nice to have zero reoccuring monthly expenses for a TeamSpeak server. We tried to host our own server and found it was difficult to keep it online. We were looking for tips on keeping a TeamSpeak server online when hosted by an individual's own personal computer.

If i was you, it would be much much better for it to be hosted by a company, as if server problems emerge and the host isnt around could be kinda awkward. also lag comes into the equation. home hosted Teamspeaks are not the most stable and sometimes do have much higher latency than one hosted off a dedi-box or a company. it is also quite difficult for the TS server to be run 24/7 and if the persons net drops then they need to reset the hosted server so the host has to be around often enough to make sure no problems are encountered.
