Starcraft IPL UPDATE!!

25 April 2011
As you all knew the IGN Pro League has been going for the last few days now, with the best north american players meeting in double elimination. So far the tournament has been very impressive, with IGN streaming their content out for free live, which is impressive in itself but when you see the high production value of the content - IGN truely has a league to be proud of. The matches themselves have provided some suprises and quite frankly gob smacking results. I admit I have not watched every match, as the 1am GMT streaming time, 3 days in a row, really gets the better of me so have fallen back to VOD's to catch up on. A full set of tournament brackets can be found at http://www.ign.com/ipl/starcraft2/tournaments/best-of-the-west I'll give a quick insight into the remaining upper and lower bracket matches:
ROOTKiwiKak vs EG Idra  - Predicted Winner Idra

Set to be an epic match between two true titan players. Idra has been very convincing vs Terrans in the tournament, but will he be able to beat his first Protoss opponent? I think he can. Kiwikaki has a superb playstyle like the rest of team ROOT gaming, but I just feel Idra will power his way to victory as in his last two games he doesn't seem to be in the mood to mess around with anyone in this tournament. Will be a great match to watch regardless of the result.

ROOTCatz vs SeleCt  - Predicted Winner SeleCt
Thus far for SeleCt it has been alll zerg for him now so he should be on top of his game versus ROOTCatz. Catz is a great zerg, however in my opinion he is the weakest Zerg left in the tournament. As I said in the past post about IPL I am a zerg fanboy at heart...but I just can't see Catz pulling off the win. SC2 being the game it is though, absolutely anything can happen and I will be hoping Catz proves my prediction to be wrong.

EGAcslav vs ROOTMinigun  - Predicted Winner Minigun
EGAclav has been strong in the tournament so far, but I have never been a fan of his playstyle in general, and feel with ROOTMinigun having a sparing partner such as KiwiKaki that his PvP should be pretty solid. EGAcslav is indeed impressive and has a great backing that, while I disagree with them, claim he is one of the best. Sticking to my guns and saying Minigun will win this.....no pun intended :p

coLstalife vs sixjaxViBe  - Predicted Winner staflife
The second TvZ of the day and in my opinion, could be the best of the day should KiwiKaki and Idra fail to deliver. I think the winner of this game will go on to win the lower bracket as both players, despite loosing, have been showing promise in the tournament thus far, and in general outside in other matches. Going to hand this one to stalife purely because I like his IGN picture better - I think the match is going to be that close.

**Note to all that I am aware some <insert insult here> have posted supposed 'spoilers' on other sites which remain to be seen if they are true or not, I stopped reading as soon as I realised what it was I was reading as I want to watch this tournament as it goes along as I'm sure all of you do. Please do not post any spoilers in the comments as they will be deleted asap.**
